    Project Description
The Chelan County Natural Resource Department will use this grant to document the location and condition of forest roads, looking for those causing problems for salmon. The County will work with the U.S. Forest Service and private landowners to assess the conditions of 150 miles of roads in the upper Peshastin Creek watershed. This will include 120 miles of national forest system roads, county roads, and roads on Longview Timber land and smaller private parcels. Results of this inventory would identify priority, road-related erosion control and stream restoration actions. The long-term goal is to gather information to help determine which roads can be decommissioned in the Peshastin Creek watershed. The County’s project partners will contribute $9,044 in donated labor. See more information on this project. (12-1619)
